Protektor Spray (generic name: Fipronil; brand names include: Frontline) belongs to a group of medicines known as phenylpyrazole antiparasitic agents.

Protektor Spray is a topical solutions which kills fleas and ticks on the skin, while being collected in the oils of the skin and in the hair follicles of the animal. Therefore it is not absorbed into the animal's body and doesn't enter their bloodstream.

The active ingredient spreads over the body in about 24 hours and its effect lasts about a month. The effectiveness is not reduced by bathing and swimming, although bathing with a shampoo should be avoided within 48 hours of application.
